It was July 21st, 2010. I walked into Healthy Figures and I weighed 257 lbs. and my blood pressure was consistently in the 150/100 range – even with daily medication. Amazingly, just over 3 months from when I started the Healthy Figures Program, I hit my goal weight of 210 lbs. My blood pressure – which was my main motivation for starting the program – is now consistently in the 120/80 range. And although I still take daily blood pressure medication, I only take half of what I was taking prior to the weight loss.

I had tried many other diet programs, exercise programs, food bars, magical drinks, etc. None of those worked. This one did. I really did not understand how the food we eat interacts with and shapes our bodies. I really did not understand eating “healthy” food alone is just not enough. There truly is a balance we can achieve between what calories we consume and what calories we burn. It’s simple math – consume less calories than your daily requirement to maintain your present weight.

I had my yearly physical with my family doctor at the end of December 2010. He had not seen me since my last physical in January 2010. The last weight they had recorded for me was 265 lbs. For this visit I weighed 211 lbs. My blood pressure during my visit was 124/75. I have been using the same physician for the past 15 years. We went back through my entire medical file and could not find a diastolic reading in the 80’s, much less the 70’s…Needless to say, the program has worked for me.

My life has truly changed in so many ways since that first visit. I feel so much better physically and emotionally. I have more energy. I don’t get tired. I sleep better. I am more relaxed…It has truly been an amazing experience…I went from size 42 pants to a size 36. My clothes fit better. I just generally feel better about myself and my appearance.

Of course, as I explain to anybody who asks how I lost the weight, I always emphasis a life-style change is required. The Healthy Figures program, at least for me, provided the bridge to move from an unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy one. Healthy Figures provides the support system for you to succeed; but, the reality is, the results are based on your commitment and your dedication to a healthier lifestyle.
