My name is Scott McAuley. I have been a police officer
for 25 years. Over
the years riding around in a police car, you find that you are not able
to exercise enough. This is what happened to me. When I graduated from
college, I weighed 190 pounds. Time and bad eating habits took me to
the heaviest weight I have ever been, 357 pounds and still growing. I
noticed that I was breathing heavily just walking to the car. My blood
pressure had gone up to a point where, without medication, I was having headaches. I
couldn’t
even sit in most arm chairs because I would not fit between the arms. I
was tired most of the time and did not sleep well. I was uncomfortable in
my
own body.

My family cared enough about me to tell me that something had to change and they introduced me to the fine folks at Healthy Figures. That was January 2008. I was very skeptical of the program at first. I don’t like taking medication and have never believed in diet pills. I always believed I could lose weight if I just put my mind to it and I was right, but I could not keep it off. With Healthy Figures, I lost 97 pounds in 7 months. It has now been 11 months since I started the program and the impressive thing is that I am not gaining any of that weight back. I have programmed my eating patterns over the last year to complement the weight loss just because of what I learned from those wonderful people at Healthy Figures in Tyler, Texas.

I no longer take blood pressure medication because 110/70 is pretty good for me! I sleep better and I am hard to wear down. I sit in arm chairs now without being uncomfortable or embarrassed. I don’t have any trouble breathing on routine actions, like walking to the car. I have even found myself walking faster and even occasionally running. The more weight I lost, the easier and more enjoyable I found it to exercise. I bought a bicycle and have found myself riding 17.5 miles through three different towns.

Looking back at pictures of myself, before losing weight,
I looked like a man that did not have many years left. I could
see that heart disease or a stroke would have ended my life. I
now feel better and
I know
that I am much, much healthier. Thank you so much C.J., Jim and
Misti for what you have accomplished just on me! My family thanks you
also.
